Jim Pickrell has lived in Garland for 25 years, and is a member of Springcreek Community Church. He and his wife Ellen have one daughter, Michele, who is in her second year of pharmacy school at Texas Tech University Health Science Center in Amarillo, Texas. Ellen owns her own business, and Jim works for Countrywide Financial. Abundantly blessed, Jim comes to Good Samaritans in hopes of sharing those blessings and making a difference in the community. Jim currently serves as president of the Board of Directors.

Mike Bencheck, Vice President
Mike Bencheck is vice-president of the board of directors. He attends Springcreek Community Church in Garland. He and his wife Judy reside in Richardson. Mike is employed by Verizon . His passion for helping the needy brought him to Good Sam where he hopes to be able to serve God.

Peggy Huffman, Co-Treasurer
Peggy received a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from North Texas State University before moving to Dallas. She and husband, Ron, have lived in Garland for more than thirty years. They are members of First United Methodist Church in Garland, where Peggy has been a member of the Chancel Choir for more than 25 years. Peggy was also wedding director at the church for more than 10 years and currently volunteers in the church office. They have two children and one grandchild. Peggy currently serves as co-treasurer for Good Samaritans and is very excited about helping people in the communities of Garland, Sachse, and Rowlett.

Jim Aswegan
Jim Aswegan has lived in the Garland area for more than 30 years. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business and Public Administration from UTD. He and wife Patsy are members of Springcreek Community Church in Garland. He is a member of the Missions and Outreach team at Springcreek. Jim and Patsy have three children and five grandchildren. Jim has a passion for helping and educating people who desire to better their lives. On Good Samaritans board, Jim is a member of the Vision team.

Clay Brantley
Clay Brantley is a pastor of First Presbyterian Church, Garland where he has served the past two and half years. Clay has served as a pastor in Malvern, Arkansas ; Sherman, Texas ; and McKinney, Texas . In each community he has served, he has been involved in the community, helping those in need. In 2007, he begins his service on the Good Samaritans Board. Clay has degrees from Texas A&M, Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary, and recently from SMU Perkins School of Theology. He is married to Crysta and has two children, a son age 13 and a daughter age 10, a border collie and a red-eared slider turtle. His family is his greatest blessing.

Grady Smith
Grady Smith is an active member of Lake Pointe Church. He in his wife, Peggy have two adult children and two grandchildren. Grady is a retired Regional Sales Manager who traveled internationally. He retired to spend more time with his family. He currently is an active realtor in the metroplex. He spents most of his free time volunteering for the Scottish Rite, Shrine and his Masonic Lodge. His goal is to raise funds for the children's hospitals and high school scholarships. |

Mary Tunnell
U.S Air Force brat. Last three years of high school in Japan. Licensed cosmetologist 20+ years before beginning product fund raising in 1977, and since 1997 co-owner of MaryMax Enterprises continuing same profession. Married Max Tunnell in 1964. Max is a public school band director in Dallas ISD. Since 1977 we have lived in Garland ISD jurisdiction and attend St. David's Episcopal Church, Garland. Elected board member of Good Samaritans Feb. 2005. We as a board are excited about our future serving the communities of Garland, Rowlett, and Sachse.

Kathleen R. West, Director
Kathleen R. West was Executive Director of Good Samaritans from 2001 to 2004. She then became Development Director until 2005 at which time she resigned to pursue other interests. During that time, she completed her first novel, as yet unpublished, and began working on her second. In August of 2006, Kathleen returned to Good Sam as a Consultant/Interim Director. She is originally from Minnesota , is a former Marine, the divorced mother of two terrific adult children, and has a beautiful daughter-in-law and two wonderful grandchildren. It is her firm belief that God created her to help others, and she is grateful for the opportunity through Good Samaritans.
